Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When can I come pickup my vehicle?
A: You must schedule an appointment during office hours. Depending on the reason your car was impounded will determine what you need to do to have the vehicle released. PSP may have requested a "hold" on the vehicle.

Impound due to Suspected DUI:  Typically no hold; make an appointment/pay the towing/storage fees, sign required paperwork, bring Photo ID
Impound due to Registration and/or insurance:  Go online and renew, print out updated proof of legal documents to BRING with you during your appointment, pay tow/storage bill.
Impound due to Abandoned Vehicle:  Proof of ownership, Photo ID, pay tow/storage bill.

Q: Can I have someone else pick up my vehicle?
A: Yes, with prior authorization arrangements.  Person that the vehicle is being released to will assume all liability for the vehicle, bring required items, pay tow/storage fee.

Q: Can I get something from my vehicle?
A: If there is something "LIFE SUSTAING", you can give our staff authorization to retrieve.  If you have prescription medication or a medical device.  Money, phones, keys, etc. are all considered personal property and may be obtained when you pick up the vehicle.  Additional fees may apply for staff to provide additional services so that you can obtain items.

Q: "Hello, my car was impounded Saturday night, can I come pick it up on Sunday because I have work Monday morning and I need my car?"
A: No.  The office is not open on Weekends.  You will need to schedule an appointment during office hours.  It would cost you ALOT MORE to get 2 employees to come to work on their day off than it would cost you to be late for work or take off.  You are expected to make arrangements.
